Update November 2022 – As the country continues to heal after the COVID-19 pandemic, FeedMore WNY’s AniMeals program is still looking for help to feed animals in the Western New York area. Recently, FeedMore began the Collection Drive initiative where local supporters can begin their own local or virtual food drive to support both pets and neighbors in need.

August 2021 – Mark Lesinski of P&B Capital Group, LLC, a professional collection agency in West Seneca, NY, enjoyed the recent opportunity to volunteer for a pet food drive to gather dog and cat food donations for companion pets of vulnerable populations. Volunteers gathered for FeedMore WNY’s AniMeals “Coming 2gether for Pets Drive” to spend the day directing traffic, unloading vehicles, sorting donations, and setting up/cleaning up for the event at various designated donation sites across Western NY.

Since the outbreak of COVID, free pet food banks and pantries (and animal shelters) like FeedMore WNY’s AniMeals have suffered. Demand for assistance has escalated while the volume of donations and number of volunteers have decreased. Pet food pantries rely on volunteers and donations to help provide much-needed food and resources. With many people financially or physically unable to help, the need for assistance is greater than ever. P&B Capital Group’s Mark Lesinski stepped up to help.

“We had a great day and so did our pup! We love animals and we of course understand the profound positive impact pets can have on a person’s life. People who are suffering financially can’t necessarily afford to keep their pet but also may be suffering in other ways– perhaps emotionally or physically– that can be eased by having their dog or cat to help with the loneliness. I love that so many people are willing to show up and donate food to help people keep their pets in these situations. We’re glad we got to be a part of this special day and great program,” said Mr. Lesinski.

AniMeals is a part of FeedMore WNY and helps to fill the food shortage needs of companion pets for vulnerable populations including elderly, disabled, and homebound individuals receiving assistance from FeedMore WNY. The program feeds an average of 30 dogs and 47 cats monthly to help eliminate the clients’ choice to feed themselves or their pets. Animals receive one meal per day delivered twice monthly. All of the food is donated by volunteers. Annual food drives are held across multiple Western New York drop-off locations to gather the supplies needed for the program.
